We arrived in Arrecife on September 12th 2001 from Morocco, to be told the news about
the 9/11 attacks on New York. The Canaries were nice, if somewhat touristy in places our favourite was Isla Graciosa, which
was unspoilt and remote, with barren volcanoes inland and good spearfishing. We also went to Las Palmas (just before the ARC
lots of big boats in the marina) and La Gomera which was very spectacular. We were then headed for the Cape Verde islands.
