This spectacular island off the coast of Chile is the island where Alexander Selkirk spent 3 years on his own after having
a dispute with his captain. Dufoe's novel of Robinson Crusoe is based on Alexander's story, but set in the Caribean.
We visited from Frebruary 27 to March 10 2004 after a week long crossing from Puerto Montt, mainland Chile. From here we sailed
north to San Felix and Easter Island.
